Get Going With a One-Time IV Infusion
STELARA® is the only treatment that starts with a one-time intravenous (IV) infusion to help reduce symptoms of Crohn’s disease, followed by subcutaneous maintenance injections to help keep the disease under control.
For your one-time IV infusion through a needle placed in a vein, your healthcare professional will provide the amount of medication based on your body weight in a relaxed, comfortable setting. The infusion lasts at least one hour, so before you’re done texting, tweeting, and planning a hangout with your friends, you’ll be finished and on your way home.
Feeling Right at Home With STELARA®
All Crohn’s disease biologics need to be injected or infused, and STELARA® provides a convenient dosing schedule of one subcutaneous injection every 8 weeks after your initial one-time intravenous (IV) infusion. If your doctor decides that you can give your injections at home, you should receive training on the proper way to prepare and inject STELARA®. Do not try to inject until you have been properly trained by a healthcare professional.
With a little training, a little practice, and a little confidence, injecting STELARA® at home will become part of your routine.
The following video will provide an overview of self-injecting. Also be sure to download our Self-Injection Guide to have all of the information you need right at your fingertips, and thoroughly read the Medication Guide prior to injecting.
Safely and securely disposing of your used STELARA® prefilled syringes is easy. SafeReturns® is a convenient return service that provides mailback boxes at no additional cost to you. To receive your SafeReturns® boxes, please call Janssen CarePath at 877-CarePath (877-227-3728).
